Rusk County, WI (September 5, 2024) – One woman is dead after a reported pedestrian accident in Rusk County over the weekend.

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office said it happened on Sunday around 11:00 p.m. A vehicle was traveling north on Highway 40, north of Bruce and south of County Highway H, when it hit a pedestrian who was believed to be walking near the northbound lane. The impact threw her into a ditch, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials have now identified the victim as 22-year-old Alethea R. Frisinger of Bruce. However, the investigation into the cause of the incident remains ongoing, and no further details have been released in the interim. Witnesses were asked to contact Rusk County deputies with additional information.
