Mountain, WI - One Dead, Three Hurt in Head-on Crash on Hwy 32

Mountain, WI (September 10, 2024) – A head-on crash on Highway 32 in Mountain killed a 51-year-old Lake Tomahawk woman on Sunday, September 8, per local authorities.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office says three people, including the victim, were in a Subaru SUV that was hit by a Chevrolet SUV that crossed the center line and was going north in the southbound lane. When deputies arrived, they found the Subaru in a west ditch with extensive damage. All passengers were trapped, and the woman died before she could be taken to a hospital.

The driver, a 15-year-old girl, and another passenger, a 54-year-old man, who were also from Lake Tomahawk, were taken to an area hospital. She had to be extracted from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the Chevrolet that was in the wrong lane was a 30-year-old Fond du Lac man, who was also taken to the hospital. In the meantime, the accident continues to be the subject of an investigation by law enforcement. More updates will be released as the inquiry progresses.

We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased victim's family. Our thoughts are also with the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery.
