Madison, WI (September 11, 2024) – All lanes were reopened following a crash on the Beltline near the Whitney Way exit, a WisDOT notification said Tuesday afternoon, September 10.

At around 5:45 p.m., WisDOT said the westbound lanes of the Beltline were blocked near the Whitney Way exit. Madison police and fire officials responded to the crash. According to WisDOT, the crash closed all westbound lanes for at least an hour. It's unclear how many people were hurt, but EMTs were also dispatched to the site shortly after the incident took place.

 Those with injuries were transported to local medical facilities for further care and evaluation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identities of the victims have not been released thus far. Police have not provided details on whether citations or charges are pending. Witnesses were asked to contact the Madison Police Department as soon as possible if they had additional information.
