Grant County, WI (August 31, 2024) – On Thursday, August 29, a woman collided with three oncoming vehicles on Wisconsin Highway 133 in Grant County, resulting in the injuries of multiple individuals, according to a crash report.
Around 5:20 p.m., a 30-year-old resident of Livingston was operating a 2004 Chevy Silverado in the eastbound lanes of Highway 133, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
Per officials, the driver acknowledged that she crossed the center line on a curve in the roadway near Dog Tail Road in the Township of Potosi. Her pickup truck collided with the driver's side of three inbound vehicles traveling westbound on Highway 133. Shortly thereafter, it continued until it collided with a concrete barrier located on the north side of the roadway. The front end and driver's side of the vehicle were significantly damaged.
She was required to be extracted from the vehicle. Subsequently, she was transported to an area hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. That said, the incident did not result in any injuries to her one-year-old daughter.
In three of the four vehicles that were involved in the collision, the airbags were activated. The three vehicles driving westbound were occupied by five additional individuals and a dog. A number of individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, though their current conditions were unknown. The driver was cited for operating left of center and inattentive driving, though the accident continues to be the subject of an investigation. More updates will be released as the inquiry progresses.
