Fond du Lac, WI (August 22, 2024) – The Fond du Lac Police Department and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to the 300 block of Grove Street for a report of a child who was struck by a car just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the boy was riding his bicycle in the street when he was struck by a car driven by a 41-year-old man from North Fond du Lac traveling west on Grove Street. The child was taken to SSM Health (St. Agnes Hospital) by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue. The child died from his injuries while in the hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the car is cooperating with law enforcement. However, the investigation into the cause of the incident remains ongoing, and no further details have been released in the interim.
