Brodhead, WI (September 30, 2024) – Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol say that an Illinois man is dead after a two-car highway crash south of Brodhead on Sunday afternoon, September 29. 

The Green County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to the scene, reported that a car driven by a 23-year-old man from Lena, was traveling south on County T at about 2:00 p.m. Sunday, when it was hit by an SUV traveling west on that road.

First responders from Brodhead were first on the scene, where the man from Lena was pronounced dead. The 47-year-old woman who was driving the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment.  During the interim, the cause of the accident remains under investigation, and the identities of the victims were not released. Police have not provided additional details, though witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
