Washington County, WI (May 25, 2024) – On May 23, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received information of a white Ford sedan speeding south on Interstate 41 at over 100 mph before causing a multi-vehicle collision eight minutes later, at 11:15 a.m.

The incident occurred on I-41 near the exit to Pioneer Road in the Village of Richfield. Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol and Sheriff's Office deputies were sent to the site. Additionally, Richfield Fire and Rescue arrived to assist. No fatalities were reported, but EMTs transferred two victims from the scene. Their current conditions are unknown. For about an hour, the Wisconsin State Patrol blocked a section of the highway to complete their on-scene inquiry. No further details were released.
