According to Wisconsin state law, pedestrians are entitled to use sidewalks and traverse streets, yet pedestrian accidents nonetheless occur on a daily basis. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reports that more than 2,000 pedestrians are struck by vehicles annually in the state, and a significant number of these incidents result in fatalities, or serious injuries that may require months or years of recovery.
Tragically, these crashes often result in major injuries for pedestrians, such as traumatic brain injuries, major tissue damage and disfiguration, or permanent disability necessitating long-term care. Oftentimes, people succumb to their injuries as a result of these incidents. If you have lost a loved one in a pedestrian accident and have questions about the details of the incident, don't hesitate to contact an empathetic and tenacious accident attorney to fight for justice and fair compensation on your behalf.
