Madison, WI (October 17, 2024) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) reported that one person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County on Wednesday.

According to officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 10:30 a.m. to County Highway U in the Town of Cold Spring. Authorities said that a preliminary investigation shows a vehicle was traveling eastbound when it crossed over the centerline and hit a vehicle that was traveling west. Each vehicle had a single person in it, authorities noted.
