Buffalo County, WI (September 27, 2024) – Two men were killed on Friday morning, September 27, when a truck hit three motorcycles near Nelson.

According to a news release from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, at about 10:40 a.m., the agency received a report of a truck and multiple motorcycles involved in a crash near the intersection of State Highway 35 and Deer Creek Road in Nelson.

The initial investigation showed that a northbound pick-up truck driven by a 34-year-old man from Alma crossed the centerline of State Highway 35 and hit three motorcycles that were traveling southbound. Two of the drivers of the motorcycles, a 59-year-old man from Rochester, Minn., and a 59-year-old man from Chatfield, Minn., were killed.

It's unclear how many vehicles were ultimately involved in the collision, but the crash is still under investigation. The sheriff’s office asks that if anyone has information about the crash to come forward right away.
