Arbor Vitae, WI (July 4, 2024) – Authorities with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said Highway 70 between Arbor Vitae and St. Germain was closed for about 90 minutes on Monday after a crash.

Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue said the stretch of road had to be shut down due to an accident with a truck and vehicle, causing damage to power lines across the road. A notification from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said it happened Saturday at 10:25 a.m. and was back open just after 11:50 a.m. A detour was in place while crews fixed the power lines and cleaned up the crash.

EMTs also responded to the scene of the crash to assess injured victims, and those needing further care were taken to area hospitals, though the total number of people involved in the incident remains unknown. An inquiry into the cause of the crash is still underway. However, no further details have been provided thus far.
