Minocqua, WI (August 20, 2024) – Officers witht he Minocqua Police Department say a 71-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a car while riding a bicycle.

According to a Facebook post by the Department, officers responded to a vehicle versus bicycle crash just south of the intersection of US Highway 51 southbound and Timber Ridge Road at around 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20.

The bicyclist, Susan Kass of Oconomowoc, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Morgan Christianson of Minocqua, was taken to the Howard Young Medical Center for injuries sustained during the crash. The crash is still under investigation, and specific details of the crash have not been released thus far. Though no additional information was disclosed, witnesses were asked to contact officers with the Minocqua Police Department if they had additional information to report.
